Officials with Pancheros Mexican Grill restaurants recently announced they will open several Indiana locations, including one in Boone County.
Gary Matusiak, vice president of franchise development for Pancheros, said the company is still in the site selection process and is looking into several real estate options in Lebanon and Boone County.
Pancheros is a fast-casual Mexican chain based in Iowa City, Iowa, that is known for “fresh-pressed tortillas and perfectly-mixed ingredients.” The first Pancheros opened in 1992 and the chain has since expanded from Iowa to 70 locations in 13 states.
The chain plans to open an additional 10 restaurants over the next year, including ones in Boone County, Bloomington and Indianapolis.
“For nearly a decade, we’ve focused on growing the Pancheros brand throughout the Midwest. Showing strong growth potential and momentum, Indiana, and specifically Boone County, is a natural next step in that progression,” Matusiak said.
The restaurant group offers burritos, burrito bowls, quesadillas, tacos and salads.
